What is sustainability?

From taking csc I have learned much about how to be sustainable and how I am not sustainable. I've learned that sustainability comes in many things such as enviormental sustainability, Economic sustainability, and self sustainability. To be sustainable is to not consume more than is needed keep your resources balanced and dont use them up. Try and cut down on polluting fuels such as gasoline and other fossil fuels to lower co2 emitions or carbon monoxide. Recycle to reuse materials rather than mine or use new materials to protect wildlife and plantlife that we destroy when we want something. Use renewable energy to bring you places that are close enough to bike or walk to and spread the word of sustainbility so that we may have future generations to enjoy our world. Even though I may not be sustainable it doesnt meen you cant or cannot be.

The Alegory of the Cave

The allegory of the cave is about three men that have been prisoners ever since they were boys. They are tied down while pupeteers cast shadows over a fire and the prisoners gaze at them and discuss between eachother what the shadows resemble. Then one day they hear voices and are being dragged out of the cave which they are reluctant to do. They do not want change this is there world they are prisoners and this is there life and they dont know any other beside this one. The girl or the man I dont remeber who it was was taken out of the cave and could not see in the new light and were not accustomed to it. The prisoner was still reluctent and was ordering to be returned to the cave immediatly and was. But eventually one left the cave out of curiosity and decided not to return to the cave but went back to try and get the other prisoners to leave and experiance the new world and eventually one by one they left the cave and came into the world. At first they could not see in the brightness and all they could make out was a bright white light. But after many years thay became accustommed to the light and were able to live out normal lives. I think this story is about the fear of change and how much we can be in denial about hings. If people are brought knowing one thing someone says against their belief; that person would be reluctant to change.
